High School World Geography

INSTRUCTOR: Jay Dane

$600 per semester. This is a year-long course

In this rigorous course, students will come to know and understand the world in spatial terms by using: maps and other geographic representations, tools, and technologies to acquire, process, and report information; and mental maps to organize information about people, places, and environments. Students will analyze the spatial organization of people, places, and environments on Earth's surface. Students will investigate the physical and human systems on the Earth’s surface, and students will discover how human actions have altered the physical environment and the challenges many nations face as a result. Finally, students will apply geography to interpret the past and to interpret the present, and plan for the future.
