Middle School Math: Course 1

PRICE: $600 PER SEMESTER. This is a one-year course.

Course 1 is the first of a three-year sequence of middle school math courses designed to prepare students for college preparatory high school mathematics. This is typically taken by 6th graders but 5th, 7th and 8th graders also take this course, depending on their math level.
Course 1 uses problem-solving strategies, questioning, investigating, analyzing critically, gathering and constructing evidence, and communicating rigorous arguments justifying their thinking. Under teacher guidance, students learn in collaboration with others while sharing information, expertise, and ideas. The course helps students to develop multiple strategies to solve problems and to recognize the connections between concepts.
