Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a non profit organization that provides the nations leading STEM programs to schools across the country. Teachers who participate in this training learn to teach K-12 STEM in creative and engaging ways with the PLTW curriculum. Ocean Grove Charter School joined PLTW in 2015 and each year OG has planned on investing in SCLC staff training so we can offer more and more classes to their students. Elementary PLTW courses will be taught by Ocean Grove and their mobile lab (for more information elementary PLTW, contact your ES).
Ocean grove has sponsored SCLC staff to teach the first of four Biomedical Science high school courses for the 2016-2017 school year. These courses are meant to be taken in order. Each year we are adding a new course until we will have been trained to teach the entire four-years of high school courses in Biomedical Sciences. 1) Principles of Biomedical Science, 2) Human Body Systems, 3) Medical Interventions and 4) The Capstone Course: Biomedical Innovation.
