This course is designed for sophomores, juniors and seniors with at least one year of prior biological science. The course centers on contemporary topics in Biology and Biotechnology that require ethical examination. The focus will be on examination of various topics with the students being allowed to explore all ethical dimensions of the topics.

Course Objectives

Understand a variety of cutting-edge Biotechnological topic.
Understand and utilize various methods of research in the library, most of which will involve becoming familiar with the vast amount of available databases and computer-based information.
Formulate the data into well organized, defined opinion.
Defend opinions and formulate rebuttal to other ethical positions and opinions.
Work cooperatively in debate and discussion groups.
Organize data into logical arguments.
Coordinate the use of computer technology into learning.
